In 2007 the Vicar received this unique and inspiring message:

" Having 6 months to live is nobody's idea of fun. But it's worse for us. I've just been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, same kind as got Bill Hicks and they're guessing I've around 6-12 months.

So, how do I pick the music, movies and books? Do I re-read/view/listen to old favourites? Go for new stuff. Is there a 1 writer/ 1 director rule for books and movies. And what about the funeral music. I mean, if I leave it too long and I get too confused, I could be going out to "I've never been to me." Also, from now on, surely I should be seen as the ultimate reviewer? I mean, if a thing's worth my time it's damn well worth yours, bub.

It is with great regret that we inform the parish that Brian's fight with his illness is now over and he died on August 31st 2007.

Our belated sympathies go to his family and friends. Thank you for your membership of the parish, Brian. We will miss you.
